Special Interest Groups

You are invited to attend CSBB—Biomedical sciences or CSBHPC—High Performance Computing, new international Special Interest Groups in bioinformatics. The meetings are planned for Monday, August 11, 2003, 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at Stanford, immediately following the opening ceremony for the 2nd International Computational Systems Bioinformatics conference. Registrants will receive detailed directions to meeting rooms.

The goal of the SIGs is to present ongoing work, particularly industry related work as opposed to the mature academic research presented in the main conference. The SIGs broaden the contents of the CSB2003 four-day event by extending the topics of interest beyond that of the main conference. At the same time, they also deepen the conference theme by focusing on specific topics and bringing together a critical mass of researchers in select areas.

Tim Mattson will lead the inaugural CSBHPC meeting and Stephen Wong will lead the inaugural CSBB meeting. You can contact Tim for the HPC agenda at timothy.g.mattson@intel.com and Stephen for CSBB at stephen_wong@hms.harvard.edu.

To register send your name to:
CSBB@marinelli.org for CSBB or telee@ucdavis.edu for CSBHPC

NOTE: it is not necessary that you register for the Computational Systems Bioinformatics conference to attend the SIG meetings.

CLASSROOM ASSIGNMENT AND LOCATION:
SIG CSBB will be held in building #260.
SIG CSBHPC will be held in building #300.
