"It's a Small World After All"

The Disney song introduced at the World's Fair in 1964 was to illustrate "Man's Achievements on a Shrinking Globe in an Expanding Universe." One of its most memorable phrases is, "There's so much that we share that it's time we're aware; it's a small world after all."

42 years later these words capture the essence of the Life Sciences Society which emphasizes the basic common denominator that all life scientists around the world share: LIFE. Every living organism employs similar biological processes to create and sustain life. Better understanding of the biology, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and engineering involved in these processes, will bring about better tracking, modeling and duplication techniques that will enhance the quality of life for all the inhabitants of this "shrinking globe".

No one can predict the future but what is sure is that to emerge as a scientific leader in the decades to follow incorporating the life sciences is a must. New styles of research are becoming popular with an ever-increasing number of scientists being drawn into projects that fall between the traditional academic boundaries. Government which funds most scientific research in the U.S. has also been actively pushing to foster work between the disciplines.

CSB2006 declares that this is a time of integration with the conference motto "Sharing Matters". Our proceedings will again be indexed in Medline to improve sharing of our author's work. The CSB Program and Poster Committees rigorously reviewed the submitted paper, poster and tutorial abstracts to produce the highest level program and encourage sharing within the life sciences community and beyond.

The registration package includes: the opening reception, snacks, lunches and banquet and a copy of the conference proceedings.

Join the CSB2006 delegation and help make this a "shrinking globe".
