Call for Posters
CLOSED

You are invited to submit posters to the 2007 Life Sciences Society Computational Systems Bioinformatics Conference (CSB2007). The conference’s goal is to facilitate exchange of ideas and collaborations between computer scientists and biologists by presenting cutting-edge computational biology research findings. Poster presentations describing original research in the development or application of advanced computational methods for biological problems are welcome. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

• Comparative Genomics • Phylogeny and Evolution
• Data Integration • Predictive Methods
• Data Mining • Proteomics
• Data Visualization • Sequence Comparison
• Gene Expression • Strings, Graphs, and Algorithms
• Genomic Annotation • Structural Biology
• Genotyping and SNPs • Systems Biology
• Molecular Simulation • Text Mining and Ontologies
• Pattern Recognition

The deadline for submission is June 7, 2006. No exceptions will be made. At least one of the poster authors must be present at the conference. The size of the poster space is: 36" high x 48" wide (91 x 122 cm). Posters will be affixed to the poster board using pushpins. No electrical support or internet connections are available in the poster session area. Extended poster abstracts will be published in the Conference CD. Extended abstracts should be limited to six pages.

Submitting your Poster Abstract:
Abstracts must be submitted online at the site
http://smi-protege.stanford.edu/~nigam/CSBPoster.html

Abstracts are limited to 250 words or less. Each abstract should have a short, specific title. The body should concisely state the study’s objective, if not clear from the title, its methods, results, and conclusions. It is not satisfactory to say, "the results will be discussed." Abbreviations should be spelled out in full at first mention, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses, except for common terms such as DNA.

Important Dates:
• Submission deadline: June 7, 2007
• Final extended abstract draft due: June 20, 2007

Send e-mail enquiries to CSB2007@LifeSciencesSociety.org.

Guidelines for Preparing Extended Abstracts:
You are also expected to prepare an extended poster abstract, which will appear on the CSB2007 CD. Your extended abstract should be formatted according to the templates found at Poster Templates. Everyone should read the PDF document, which describes the formatting rules, and which itself follows the formatting guidelines. For MS WORD users, the .dot document is a template that can be used for the formatting of your manuscript. WORD users may also wish to read the README file.

For LaTeX users, a zip file contains all the relevant files to guide your formatting.

The instructions have one inaccuracy: you do not have to send the editor a hard copy of your final manuscript. Instead, please email your final manuscript (in PDF or postscript form) as an attachment to an email to peter@markstein.org Please prepare your document for press quality, that is, at least 600 bpi, with all fonts embedded. The extended abstract must reach peter@markstein.org by June 20, 2007.

In any email concerning your poster, please include the word Poster as well as the poster-ID assigned to your poster when you submitted your poster. When you send your Extended Poster Abstract, be sure to follow this suggestion in the title line of your email.
